At Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna Spa, every corner tells a story. Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Mexico, we have created a space that reflects traditional Mexican architecture. Each room is named after a state of the Mexican Republic, inviting you to immerse yourself in the essence and traditions of this unique country.
Sol y Luna offers a space designed to release tension and restore balance. Here, our guests enjoy a complete wellness experience: relaxing stays, spa services, and a restaurant-bar, so you never have to leave unless you want to.
We are located in the Pueblo Mágico of Ajijic, just 1 kilometer from the Ajijic Boardwalk. Here, you can enjoy our accommodations, restaurant-bar, art gallery, and spa services—a perfect retreat for relaxation.
We offer free private parking, an outdoor saltwater pool, a garden, a terrace, and bar service. Additionally, all our rooms are equipped with air conditioning, WiFi, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, and garden views.
As our guest, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring eggs, chilaquiles, or pancakes.

Our Story
Sol & Luna was born in 2021 as a tribute to the history and culture that surrounds Ajijic. Our property has a rich heritage, starting in the 1980s when visionary Billy Moon established his renowned artisan workshop here—a place where Mexican clay art gained international fame. The property, which later served as a hostel and theater, remained abandoned for more than a decade.
In 2019, the opportunity arose to rescue this historic space. During the pandemic, our family decided to transform it into a unique hotel, blending tradition and modernity. Under the guidance of architect Gerardo Romero, who designed the original structure, we undertook a restoration to breathe new life into the property. Hotel Sol & Luna officially opened its doors on March 12, 2021, marking the beginning of a new chapter.
Since its opening, the hotel has grown and evolved. We began with 8 themed rooms, each representing the essence of a Mexican state. In 2023, we added 2 more rooms, with the vision of reaching a total of 32 rooms to symbolize the diversity of our nation. Our space combines authentic Mexican architecture with modern amenities, including a restaurant-bar, terrace, green areas, pool, and spa, creating the perfect retreat for relaxation and inspiration.
